Spanish director Carlos Saura to get Lifetime Achievement Award at Mumbai Fest news
Carlos Saura, renowned Spanish director, will be awarded Lifetime Achievement Award in Mumbai next month. Mumbai Academy of the Moving Image (MAMI), the organizer of the International Film Festival in the city will confer on the award to the filmmaker on the closing gala night of the 10th International Film Festival of Mumbai on April 13.
Saura will attend the award ceremony with his wife.
MAMI has instituted the award to mark the tenth anniversary of the Mumbai International Film Festival.
Mumbai Festival will also hold retrospective of films by the Spanish master, in which eight of his films will be shown including his latest musical documentary Fados and highly popular and critically acclaimed Carmen.
Shyam Benegal, Chairman of MAMI today announced the festival. that will be inaugurated on March 6th and screen 140 films from 45 countries in four Multiplex theatres in the city- IMAX Adlabs (4Screens) Metro Adlabs (2 Screens) Cinemax Versova (1 Screen) & Fun Republic Andheri (1 Screen).
