By NewsDesk • Published on September 3, 2013

TIFF-2013Online video distribution platform Vimeo has tied up with the Toronto International Film Festival 2013 and is offering a cash advance of $10,000 for exclusive on-demand digital sales for one month.

This offer is for all the films having their World Premiere at the festival. The Indian films eligible to avail this offer are Anup Singh’s Qissa, Pan Nalin’s Faith Connections, Shilpa Ranade’s The World of Goopi and Bagha and Maneesh Sharma’s Shuddh Desi Romance.

The films will be made available through Vimeo On Demand. Vimeo will be the exclusive digital distributor of these films for 30 days or until the film makes $10,000, whichever comes first. Filmmakers can set their own prices – above $4.99 – and choose the viewing format for their films.

After the 30-day period, Vimeo will offer 90-10 revenue split wherein 90% goes to the filmmakers.

Filmmakers will have freedom with theatrical and other distribution rights for their film. Vimeo will only take exclusive online/digital rights for one month and non-exclusive rights for two years.
