“Mary Kom” to have world premiere in Toronto

Mary Kom posterOmung Kumar’s Priyanka Chopra starrer Mary Kom will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film, produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is a biopic of Indian boxer Mary Kom.

“Glamorous Indian star Priyanka Chopra completely transforms herself to play Mary Kom, world champion in women’s boxing. From traditional village life in remote Manipur state to high-stakes bouts in India and around the world, this is a remarkable story of triumph.” says the festival announcement.

The film will be screened as a special presentation.

The festival announced the highlights of this year’s edition in a press conference today.
