7 Islands International Film Festival to be held from Jan 26-30 news
The fifth edition of the 7 Islands International Film Festival will be held from January 26-30, 2010 in Mumbai. This festival promotes itself as a festival with a mission. It intends to expose the Indian youth to film that brings new ideas, methodology, solutions and experimentation for social change through non violence and global disarmament.
The predominant category of films to be screened in this festival is documentaries although feature films, short films and this year, even animated films will make their presence felt. The opening film this year is Nina Paley’s Sita Sings the Blues. Other highlights include Tony Ayres’ The Home Song Stories, Majid Majidi’s The Song of Sparrows and Sanjay Kak’s Jashn-E-Azadi. The closing film is Mohamed Al-Daradji’s Ahlaam.
The screenings will be held in S.P.Jain Auditorium, Bhavan’s Complex, Andheri.
