Thats indeed Great news for all we Indians. Rahman deserves the Golden Globe in the catagory, so as Danny Boyle as the Best Director. Its the first time an Indian has achieved this and this will definitely be regarded as a milestone.
Three Cheers for Rahman !!
Wait till it gets to the
Wait till it gets to the Oscars!!!
This is so far the best indication for
This is so far the best indication for the Academy Awards next month and it will not be surprisng if Danny Boyle and his team win something, which may even include Award for Best Film and not to forget the music maestro, A.R. Rehman for Bust Music Score. Something I think that needs to be mentioned here is that actor Dev Patel and Freida Pinto were also at the Golden Globes last night and I can imagine how ecstatic they were since it was their first experience even though they did not win any awards. Attending something like this is as experience in itself.
This should also encourage our film makers and music directors that something like this can be achieved by them as well. A.R. Rehman is now extremely well known in the west and also because of his association with western music producers, such as Andrew Lloyd Webber. This, also means that at some stage Bollywood and Hollywood can work together and also some of the companies can merge even though they may not make the same films - they don't have to do that. This film should be considered as an example of just that.
Its a remarkable movie. Only Danny
Its a remarkable movie. Only Danny Boyle could take a subject matter so hackneyed and turn it into something extraordinary. Yea this ones for the Oscars..
Great news, just hoping our filmmakers
Great news, just hoping our filmmakers or producers wake up and make some good works, and learn from this success. Hoping they just don't go out and give us 100 more Slumdog kinda films.
Well put Nitesh, every good news has an
Well put Nitesh, every good news has an other side. Really hope Indian producers not start "learning" from slumdog success!!
I have put in a talking point on this

i agree with Bikas and Nitesh.
What some have forgotten to mention is
What some have forgotten to mention is that while A.R. Rehman was present at the Golden Globe Awards, Shahrukh Khan, Karan Johar and Gauri Khan were also present there.
"King" Khan," who is in the USA, with Karan Johar, along with wife, Gauri, was on the list of presenters along with Johnny Depp, Megan Fox, David Duchovny, Sting, Eva Longoria and Mark Wahlberg. When introduced, he he was introduced as "King of Bollywood" and the lady who accompanied him was Freida Pinto ("Latika" of "Slumdog Millionaire," dressed in a golden gown and looked stunning.
This makes Shahrukh Khan the first Indian presenter at the Golden Globe Awards and A.R. Rehman the first Indian musician.
Shahrukh is in the USA for filming of Karan Johar's "My Name is Khan."

Hi Bikas.
Naturally I will and do give the benefit of doubt to the author of this as I myself didn't hear about this until late yesterday evening and I was surprised as there had been no mention of him attending. If the author of this has been offended in anyway whatsoever, then I apologise as I did not mean to offend them and I do give him / her the benefit of doubt.
