Film Club Screening: Natural Dumb Killer article
Call it a tribute to Tarantino or the era of silent-caption card cinema, Natural Dumb Killer is quite an engaging film for more than a couple of reasons. In this digital age it brings back the nostalgia of whirring projectors, it's shot in sepia tone and its dramatic lighting is inspired from the early German cinema. Germán Kästli, the direcor from Argentina intelligently blends the gangster genre with impressionist cinema and adapts it to the silent era. You can look for traces of the masters of cinema throughout the film.
