Fernando Birri to be Chief Guest at IFFK'08 news
Eminent Argentinian director Fernando Birri will be the chief guest of the opening ceremony of 13th International Film Festival of Kerala, that opens on December 12, 2008. Girri is widely considered as the father of the new Latin American cinema.
Forty one directors from 23 countries will take part in the festival. Noted Indian actress K.R.Vijaya will share the stage with Girri as another chief guest for the Inaugural ceremony.
Celebrated film directors like Amos Gitai, African director Idrissa Ouedrago, Russian director Shakhnazarov Karen, Indian directors Ketan Mehta, Girish Kasaravelli, K.P.Kumaran, M.G.Sasi, Nandita Das and Subash Ghai are some of the many eminent guests at the fest. Most of the directors of competition section will also be on the guest list.
