FICCI Frames '10 Dairy: Problems facing the film industry
As FICCI Frames 2010 drew to a close today, two issues remained predominant over the three days of the Global Conference on the Business of Entertainment. Looking at both of them, the conference can be said to be skewed in favour of cinema sidelining its other siblings like television in the arena of entertainment. All the same, two really important issues concerning India cinema by and large i.e piracy and the state of script writers in India were addressed in reasonable depth.
CM ensures strict enforcement of existing anti-piracy laws at the inauguration of FICCI Frames
Inaugurating ‘FICCI FRAMES 2010, the Global Convention on the Business of Entertainment’,The Maharashtra Chief Minister, Ashok Chavan said that the real need of the hour was to enforce the existing anti-piracy laws. He assured the Central and State Government’s commitment to give full protection to the right of the film producers to ensure that their innovative spirit was not trampled upon. He was responding to an appeal by Yash Chopra, Chairman, FICCI Entertainment Committee to take serious action against piracy.
