Cannes'09:Palme d'Or to Michael Haneke news
Austrian director Michael Haneke claimed the coveted Palme d'or at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival for his "The White Ribbon".
This is the first Golden Palm for the director whose earlier films Cache (2005), Pianist (2001), Funny Games (1997) and Code Unknown (2000) had been nominated for the honour.
Indian actress Sharmila Tagore was also part of the jury headed by French actor Isabelle Huppert.
