Cannes'09 to Open with Pixar's Up news

The 62nd Cannes International Film Festival (May 13-24, 2009) will open with the US 3D animated film Up, co-directed by Pete Docter and Bob Peterson and produced by John Lasseter for Disney/Pixar. This is a first in the history of the festival, which has never before opened with an animated work, let alone one in 3D.

The rest of the selection will be unveiled on April 23 at the traditional Paris press conference.
