Call for Entry: 14th Mumbai Film Festival 2012

The 14th Mumbai Film Festival which will be held from October 18-25, 2012 is calling for entries.

The festival will accept feature-length films for its competitive and non- competitive sections, as well as short films and documentaries. The deadline for submitting entries is August 1, 2012.Entry forms will be available here shortly.

The International Competition section of the festival is open to debut filmmakers from all over the world. It carries cash awards amounting to USD 200,000. US $100,000 will be awarded for the Best First Film and US $ 50,000 for the Grand Jury Prize. The cash prize will be shared between the director, producer & the sales agent / Indian distributor.

The Audience Choice Award will carry US $ 20,000 to be shared between the director, producer & the sales agent / Indian distributor.

‘Dimensions Mumbai’ is the competition section for short films of five minute duration or less in any format by the Youth of Mumbai below the age of twenty five, on any aspect of the city.

‘Celebrate Age’ is a section which was introduced in the festival in 2010: it is open to ad-films, short fiction films, documentaries and feature length films made on the theme of growing old with dignity.

The section ‘Indian Frame’ will feature Indian cinema from all the regions and New Faces in Indian Cinema which screens first and second films of Indian filmmakers.

The festival is organized by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI), a not-for-profit trust founded by Indian film industry personalities chaired by filmmaker Shyam Benegal.
