UTV World Movies to organize short film competition, winning films go on air

UTV World Movies has introduced ‘Premier – The Short Film Competition’, entries for which will open from 23rd February till 15th March 2011. The best of the entries will get a chance to be showcased on UTV World Movies.

The contest will be judged by a panel of three renowned directors – Raj Kumar Gupta, Paresh Mokashi and Sooni Taraporevala. It is open to both amateur and professional film makers.

Contestants need to upload their entries via a ‘youtube’ link (duration: 10 mins or less) via an entry procedure on the UTV World Movies website i.e. www.utvworldmovies.com. The theme for the contest is ‘Premier – implying First Time Ever’.

The winners will also get a chance to work with director Paresh Mokashi. Through this initiative, the channel aims to recognize, handpick and showcase some upcoming talent in the short film segment.
