The Man Beyond the Bridge (Paltadacho Munis), a film by Laxmikant Shetgaonkar will now have an international release in Canada. The film rights have been acquired by distributor Vagrant films at the recent Rotterdam International Film festival.  Bruce Levey inked the Canadian distribution for this Indian film. The film is set for a theatrical release in India next month.

The film had longest running success at international film festivals after wining award at Toronto International film festival 2009. Recently the film has been included in the world s best films of 2009 list. It’s also participating in the Panorama section of ongoing Berlin International Film Festival, where it will compete for the best first feature film of directors.

“It’s a great achievement for regional cinema India. Barring Hindi, Tamil or some Bengali films regional cinema does’t get international release. This also proves the fact that language is no barrier for cinema. It also gives me confidence to stick to the kind of films I make and want to make,” Laxmikant Shetgaonkar told Dearcinema.
