A still from Nauka Dubi

Rituparno Ghosh’s Nauka Dubi will release as Kashmakash in Hindi. The film will have a bilingual release on May 20. Hindi version of the film will release in Mumbai and New Delhi (Pune, Hyderabad and Bangalore might be included) while the original Bengali version will play in Kolkata.

The film, based on a famous Rabindranath Tagore story, has Raima Sen , Riya Sen , Jishu Sen Gupta and Prosenjit in lead roles.

Gulzar has translated the lyrics in Hindi. Sanjoy Raja has composed music for the film, which is based on the tunes of Rabindra Sangeet.

The original Bengali version had a premiere at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa late last year. It was the opening film of Indian Panorama section.

Producer-director Subhash Ghai, who has produced Nauka Dubi (Kashmakash in Hindi), is upbeat on the upcoming release. He says, “I did not want to deprive Hindi audiences of watching this beautiful film , so I have got it dubbed in Hindi with Hindi songs by Gulzar sahib.”
