PVR Pictures to distribute Mira Nair’s The Reluctant Fundamentalist in India

PVR Pictures has acquired the Indian rights to Mira Nair’s The Reluctant Fundamentalist.

The film is likely to release in India by the end of 2012. The Reluctant Fundamentalist is a political thriller based on Mohsin Hamid’s novel and stars Kate Hudson, Riz Ahmed, Kiefer Sutherland, Liev Schreiber, Martin Donovan and Om Puri.

The film tells the story of a young Pakistani man working on Wall Street who is deeply affected by the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.

It was shot in Atlanta, Delhi, Istanbul, New York City and Lahore. Munich-based K5 had acquired the international rights of the film and represented it in Cannes Film festival.
