Manjari Makijany’s The Last Marble wins short film competition at IFF Melbourne

Manjari Makijany’s The Last Marble was named the Indian winner at the short film competition organized by Indian Film Festival Melbourne 2012 and Western Union. The film is about a nine year old street kid who makes things from metal scrap and junk. It was recently screened at Seattle International Film Festival 2012.

The Australian Winner of the competition is Letters Home by Neilesh Verma; the story of an international student from India who struggles to adapt to his new found homeland in Sydney.

The New Zealand winner of the competition is I Just Haven’t met you Yet by Shawn Thomas. The honorary mention went to Arranged Marriage by Jehan R and Soumya Guruprasad.

The Indian Film Festival Melbourne opened on June 11, 2012.
