Jai Bhim Comrade wins award at 36th Hong Kong international Film Festival

Jai Bhim Comrade, a 198 minute documentary directed by Anand Patwardhan won the Firebird award in Documentary Competition at 36th Hong Kong international Film Festival.

Shot over 14 years, this documentary follows the music and the tradition of activism of Dalits in India.

The Jury prize in documentary competition went to Back to the Square (Norway/Canada) directed by Petr Lom. This documentary follows 5 Egyptians to see how their lives changed six months after the Tahrir Square Revolution in Egypt.

The 36th Hong Kong International Film Festival will conclude on April 5, 2012.
