New Gift (USA) directed by Supriyo Sen will compete in Short Film Competition at the LA Film Fest 2012 which is being held from June 14-24, 2012 in Los Angeles, California.

The 3-minute film deals with ‘farmers in India harnessing the power of seeds’. It highlights the work of Dr. Vandana Shiva, a renowned environmental activist and eco-feminist in India.

The film is part of a series of 30 three-minute stories about innovative people who are reshaping the world through act or invention, directed by celebrated documentary filmmakers.

Supriyo Sen’s earlier documentary Wagah had been screened in Sundance Film Festival 2010. He also won the Berlin Today award at Berlinale Talent Campus for the same film.
