India to be ‘Guest Country’ at Cannes 2013

India will be the ‘Guest Country’ at the Cannes film festival 2013, Christian Jeune, Director of the film department of the festival announced at the Film Bazaar in Goa.

The 66th edition of the festival will host a “large delegation from the Indian Film Industry to Cannes to celebrate hundred years since the birth of Indian cinema”, he said.

India will be the third ‘Guest Country’ at Cannes. Egypt was first in 2011 and Brazil second in 2012.

The Festival de Cannes will run from 15th to 26th May 2013
