FTII student selected for Film Camp in Serbia
Piyush Thakur, student of Editing at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) has been selected for the 7th International Student Film Camp in Serbia to be held from 7th – 25th August, 2012. He is one among the four participants selected for editing the 4 documentaries to be made by the participants during the camp.
At the Student Film Camp, Piyush and his fellow participants will be divided into four crews. Within the first week of the camp they will shoot four documentaries in Cacak, Uzice, Kosjeric and Pozega on the theme “Arrivals / Departures”. Thereafter, they will stay in Pozega for 10 days to edit the material gathered. The films made by the students will be screened on 23 August at the Cultural Centre of Pozega, and the following day at the Cultural Centre of Belgrade, Movie Theatre.
Piyush Thakur’s debut film The Real Millionaire competed at the prestigious 34th Clermont-Ferrand short film festival in France this year. The film also won the Best Student Short Fiction award 2011 by the Indian Documentary Producer’s Association (IDPA) and was also screened at MIFF 2012.
