Anhey Ghorey Da Daan kicks off Indian Cinema series at Freer Gallery in Washington DC

The Freer Gallery of The Smithsonian’s Museum of Asian Art in Washington DC will screen a new film series celebrating the diversity and artistic achievement of contemporary and classic Indian cinema. Films will be shown monthly through September.

The first film in this series Anhey Ghorey Da Daan (Alms of the Blind Horse) will be screened on July 14, 2 pm at Meyer Auditorium. Admission to this event is free.

Gurvinder Singh’s debut was the last film project of Mani Kaul as creative producer. Singh won the National Award for Best Director 2011 for this film.

This series is in partnership with India Visions and funded in part by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.
