7th Third Eye Asian Film Festival to Open Tomorrow

7th Third Eye FestivalCurtain for the 7th edition of the Third Eye Asian Film Festival goes up tomorrow six hours before midnight.š  In the opening ceremony, four major awards will be handed out. Park Kwang-su, the leading director from the “Korean New Cinema” movement, will be given the Asian Filmš  Culture Award, while veteran film archivist P K Nair, founder director of the National Film Archive of India will be honoured with Satyajit Ray Memorial Award.

Aamir Khan and Madhur Bhandarkar will receive awards for Best Debutant Director for Taare Zameen Par, and the National Award for the Best Director for Fashion, respectively. The festival opens with the Golden Bear winner at Berlin 2007, Chinese director Wang Quan’an ‘s latest film Tuya’s Marriage, and will go on till 23rd, in three venues — Y B Chavan Centre, Nariman Point, Plaza Cinema, Dadar and Fun Republic, Andheri.
