Mumbai Film Festival 2012 to re-introduce Indian Film Competition

The 14th Mumbai Film Festival will introduce a Competition section for Indian Films with cumulative cash award of Rupees 15 lakh (USD 31,000 approx).

This announcement was made by the Board of Trustees of the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) on Tuesday, 17th July 2012.

The festival in its previous editions had had an International Competition for first features of directors and Audience Choice award.

The 14th Mumbai Film Festival, a Reliance Entertainment initiative will be held from October 18 – October 25, 2012.

It was also announced that the festival will change its venue to National Centre for Performing Arts and INOX in South Mumbai.

The festival in its 2012 edition will pay tribute to Italian cinema.
