Anurag Kashyap's directorial venture "That Girl in Yellow Boots" will be screened at Toronto and Venice film festivals. At Venice, the film will be screened out of competition.

After winning a special mention at the festival last year, Amit Dutta returns to Venice with his feature film "Nainsukh".

To mark the beginning of production of his new film Melancholia, Danish director Lars von Trier met the press in Sweden earlier this week. Sitting in front of a packed gathering at Film i Väst’s Trollhättan studios in Western Sweden, where von Trier is shooting for the fourth time, the director and his stellar cast – father and son Alexander and Stellan Skarsgård, Kiefer Sutherland, Kirsten Dunst and Charlotte Gainsbourg – remained very discreet about the film’s plot.

Ravi Baswani, the renowned actor of Hindi cinema passed away in Shimla on July 27th. He shot to fame with the cult comedy Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro in 1983.

Film director Yash Chopra was awarded an honorary doctorate by the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London on Friday. This honour was conferred upon him for having made an outstanding contribution to the field of cinema in his six decades of work in the Hindi film industry.

The ninth edition of the Berlinale Talent Campus will take place in Hebbel am Ufer Theatre (HAU 1-3) in Berlin Kreuzberg from February 12 – 17, 2011. "Framespotting – Filmmakers positioning themselves" is the thematic focus for the 2011 Talent Campus, which 350 young international filmmakers will attend during the 61st Berlin International Film Festival.

The National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) has announced the selections for the Screenwriters' Lab 2010. The lab will be organized in collaboration with Binger Film Lab of Amsterdam on the sidelines of the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland next month.

The Film and Television Institute of India will host an International Students’ Film Festival as a part of its Golden Jubilee Year Celebrations. This festival which will run from September 25-28 will be held in collaboration with the Directorate of Film Festivals, New Delhi.
